In August of 2005, CrossFit, Inc. founder Greg Glassman wrote an open letter to CrossFit trainers entitled Fundamentals, Virtuosity, and Mastery. Virtuosity is defined in gymnastics as “performing the common uncommonly well.” Coach Glassman goes on to write, “Virtuosity is elusive, supremely elusive. It is, however, readily recognized by audience as well as coach and athlete… The novice’s curse is manifested as excessive adornment, silly creativity, weak fundamentals and, ultimately, a marked lack of virtuosity and delayed mastery… Physical training is no different.”
Gateway CrossFit enthusiastically subscribes to the simple, time-honored principle of virtuosity. Our commitment is to provide a training experience so steeped in virtuosity and excellence that its merits will be obvious and compelling. Consequently, our clients will see results far beyond what they have previously experienced in any other fitness regimen.
